Громадська органiзацiя була створена в 1995 роцi, i на сьогоднiшнiй день налiчує бiля 5 тисяч лiкарiв рiзних спецiальностей: терапевтiв, кардiологiв, ревматологiв, гастроентерологiв, нефрологiв, пульмонологiв, ендокринологiв, невропатологiв, сiмейних лiкарiв, лiкарiв невiдкладної медицини з усiх регiонiв України.
Асоцiацiя входить до складу Мiжнародного Товариства Внутрiшньої Медицини i має тiсну спiвпрацю з iншими Мiжнародними Товариствами - Європейським Товариством кардiологiв, Європейським Будинком Серця та iншими.
Відповідно до Статуту Асоціації основним завданням її дiяльностi є освiтянська робота з метою ознайомлення широкого кола українських лiкарiв з найновiшими досягненнями сучасної медицини.
Ще один напрямок роботи Асоціації - органiзацiя мiжнародних конференцiй у спiвдружностi з Мiжнародними товариствами та органiзацiями, що дає можливiсть українським лiкарям почути найновiшу iнформацiю "з перших вуст".

The Association of Internists of Ukraine is a public organization that was created in 1995, and currently has 5 thousand doctors of various specialties: therapists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, gastroenterologists, nephrologists, pulmonologists. in, endocrinologists, neuropathologists, family doctors, emergency medicine doctors from all regions of Ukraine. The Association is a member of the International Society of Internal Medicine and closely cooperates with other International Societies - the European Society of Cardiology, the European Heart House and others.
In accordance with the Statute of the Association, the main task of its activity is educational work to familiarize a wide range of Ukrainian doctors with the latest achievements of modern medicine.
Another direction of the Association's work is the organization of international conferences in cooperation with international societies and organizations, which gives Ukrainian doctors the opportunity to hear the latest information "first-hand".
 
The Association is headed by the Chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in the specialty "Therapy", corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Internal Medicine, F.E.S.S., head of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine No. 1 of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University,
